Core Values, New Threat: Siya Kolisi Warns Springboks Ahead Of Perth Battle

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has warned that the upcoming Test against the Wallabies at Optus Stadium in Perth will be a "big challenge" as South Africa transitions from their recent fixtures. Preparing in Terrigal before heading to Western Australia, Kolisi noted that Australia presents a distinct tactical threat compared to New Zealand, while praising the incredible turnout from local South African fans.

Following their recent travels, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is maintaining strict focus ahead of the upcoming clash. The squad has been basing themselves in Terrigal before making the trip to Perth.

Kolisi stressed the importance of tactical adaptability against a fresh Wallabies side. While noting that the team's foundational principles do not change, adjustments are necessary for Australia's unique style of play.

“You always adjust for each team, but our core values are going to remain the same. Australia is completely different to New Zealand, so we’ll have to readjust certain things. It’s going to be a big challenge.”

Commenting on how the players were feeling after the long journey from the USA to Australia, where they are currently based in Terrigal north of Sydney before making the trip to Perth next week Thursday, Kolisi was highly optimistic about their preparation.

“It’s been a long journey, but it was a great success in the USA, and being here in Australia now and preparing for this game is really important.

“It’s a team we’ve had some tough battles against, but training has been going well this week, and it’s good being here in Terrigal. We’ve also seen a lot of South Africans coming out here to support us, which is great.”
