URC: Mongalo Backs Sharks Youth to Surprise Leinster

The Hollywoodbets Sharks are bracing for a massive tactical collision against defending United Rugby Championship holders Leinster at Hollywoodbets Kings Park this Saturday. Following a bonus-point win over the Ospreys, defence coach Joey Mongalo views the fixture as the ultimate barometer for his side's defensive alignment.

Mongalo downplayed any personal duel with Leinster’s senior coach and former Springbok mastermind Jacques Nienaber, focusing instead on the high-pressing systems colliding. “This is by no means a Jacques-versus-Joey thing,” Mongalo stated, acknowledging Nienaber as a godfather of defence. “Both teams this weekend should be fire against fire,” he added, predicting a relentless battle of defensive line-speed.

While the Durban outfit secured a 41–24 victory in their opener, leaking four soft tries remains a major point of correction. Mongalo warned that defensive lapses around the ruck fringes will be ruthlessly punished by the clinical Irish giants. “As a defence coach, even when a team scores one try against you, it really hurts; so you can imagine how four tries hurt,” he explained, stressing that the champions are too well-oiled to grant easy access over the whitewash.

To counter Leinster's precision, the hosts will unleash a fearless, youthful backline to spark their attacking transition. Starlet fullback Luan Giliomee, who bagged a brace last weekend, looks to spearhead the counter-attack with unpredictable running lines. “The beautiful thing about youth is that they can almost be oblivious or ignorant to what’s coming,” Mongalo concluded, banking on his young guns to play without fear on the big stage.
