URC: Everitt Backs In-Form Grayson to Direct Edinburgh Attack Against DHL Stormers

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt has challenged his squad to eliminate performance fluctuations ahead of Friday’s clash against the Stormers at Hive Stadium.

Following a hard-fought opening victory against Ulster, the focus has shifted entirely to building weekly momentum. Everitt expects a ruthless execution of the game plan to counter the explosive attacking threats from the South African visitors.

"One thing we need to work on is the consistency of our performances from week to week," Everitt said in the afterglow of his side's Belfast triumph. "That’s let us down in the past, where we are high one week and then down the next. We have got to build on this win, keep our feet on the ground and move forward positively."

The South African mentor has also thrown his weight behind experienced flyhalf James Grayson to steer the ship again. Grayson joined the capital club after stints with English Premiership side Northampton Saints and the Mitsubishi Dynaboars in Japan.

The playmaker marshalled his troops superbly on debut, earning immense respect within the squad for his sharp leadership. Everitt is looking for another massive performance from him to neutralise a high-flying Stormers outfit that recently thumped Connacht 29-15.

"He’s an impressive player, someone who reads the game well, and he comes with a lot of experience," Everitt noted. "He played 100 games in the Prem for Northampton and played with some really good players in Japan as well. He has shown good leadership within the group."
