SA Rugby has officially announced a talented 30-man Under-17 training squad as preparations ramp up for the upcoming 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
While the historic multi-sport global event runs from 31 October to 13 November 2026, the lightning-fast Rugby Sevens tournament is taking place from 1 to 3 November 2026.
Western Cape powerhouses Paul Roos Gymnasium dominate the selection with four inclusions, matched by Pretoria's Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies), who also land four players in the training squad. Southern suburbs giants SACS feature prominently with three call-ups, while traditional rugby factories like Grey College, Paarl Boys' High, and Paarl Gimnasium are all represented.
