Stellenberg High School announced that Mr Ivan Jooste will be joining them next year as our Wellness Counsellor. His role will focus on promoting the holistic well-being of our school community, supporting mental, emotional, social, physical, and academic wellness in alignment with our values of Faith, Integrity, Responsibility, and Excellence.
Mr Jooste will provide support to learners on resilience, stress management, relationships, and personal growth. He will work closely with our learner leadership structures and the peer-support programme to strengthen a culture of care and connection across the school.
With a strong background in sports wellness and performance psychology, Mr Jooste will play a meaningful role in supporting our sports teams. He will work with coaches, conditioning staff and learners to enhance confidence, focus, motivation, and teamwork - helping learners find balance both on and off the field.
He will also support leadership development: guiding our learner leaders in areas such as communication, emotional intelligence, responsibility, and conflict management, thus helping to shape confident, grounded, and empathetic young leaders.
In addition, Mr Jooste will support staff wellness, contribute to the school’s annual wellness programme, and collaborate with external wellness specialists to ensure accessible and continuous care.
Mr Jooste will join us with a commitment to fostering a school environment where every learner feels supported, valued, and equipped to thrive.
