
The Springbok Women SVNS ended last in Bordeaux, following their 17-24 loss to Brazil in their final appearance in the 2025/26 season.
Despite a great start by the Springbok Women, it was Brazil who scored the two opening tries of the match to lead 14-00 after five minutes of play in the first half. A third try by Brazil had them leading the Springbok Women 19-00 at the halftime break.
Springbok Women attacked from a scrum and spread wide, making it easy for Maria Tshiremba to score their first try after four minutes of play in the second half. A minute later, Ayanda Malinga cut the defence of Brazil in two with pace and force to score the Springbok Women’s second try, trailing 12-19 and a minute still to play. However, Brazil struck back immediately with their 5th try, after which the Springbok Women scored their fourth try to cut Brazil’s lead to 24-17.
