Paul Roos 21-17 Monnas

It was a highly paced start to the match with Monnas testing the defence of Paul Roos on several occasions; however, Paul Roos converted two penalties to lead 06-00, after sixteen minutes of play. Thereafter, Paul Roos upped the pace of their attack and scored two tries in quick succession to lead 18-00 with ten minutes still to play in the first half.

Monnas pounced on a silly kick by Paul Roos in their twenty-two and scored their first try in the corner to cut Paul Roos’ lead to 18-07. Another mistake by Paul Roos led to turnover possession, which Monnas used to strike down the middle and score their second try. After ten minutes of play, Paul Roos led 18-12. With eighteen minutes to play, Paul Roos converted a penalty, whereafter Monnas scored  try with time up on the clock. Paul Roos hung on for a deserved win.

Jeppe 10-37 Paarl Boishaai

Jeppe attacked down the middle and scored a long-distance try after four minutes of play in the first half to lead 07-00. Three minutes later, Boishaai struck back to level the scores, bulldozing their way over the tryline following wave after wave of attacks. Boishaai edged into the lead, converting a penalty with ten minutes still to play in the first half. Boishaai set up camp in the red zone of Jeppe and scored their second try to extend their lead to 17-07, and five minutes still to play. With time up, Boishaai converted a second penalty to lead 20-07.

Jeppe converted an early penalty, whereafter Boishaai took control, setting up camp in Jeppe’s half. With eighteen minutes to play, the gaps started to open, and Boishaai crashed over to lead 27-10. Boishaai added a three-pointer with a penalty conversion to extend their lead to 30-10. Thereafter, the match lost a lot of its sparkle, but Boishaai scored a long-distance try to deservedly secure a 37-10 win.

Garsfontein 21-20 Stellenberg

Stellenberg opened the scoring when Garsfontein’s defence could not close all the holes and led 07-00 after five minutes of play in the first half. Despite being pinned in their own half, Stellenberg broke out and scored their second try from a lineout maul to extend Stellenberg’s lead to 14-00 after sixteen minutes of play in the first half. Stellenberg converted two penalties to extend their lead to 20-00, and five minutes still to play. With time up on the clock, Garsfontein bulldozed their way over the tryline to trail 07-20 going into the second half.

Garsfontein clawed their way back into the match and scored their second try following a brutal attack on Stellenberg’s tryline to cut Stellenberg’s lead to 14-20 with twenty minutes still to play. Garsfontein’s onslaught continued, and they scored with time up on the clock to edge Stellenberg 21-20 in a brilliant but brutal battle.

KES 17-30 Outeniqua

KES started like a house on fire and scored a brilliant try off the back of a lineout-maul within the first three minutes of the match. Outeniqua attacked from the kickoff, and their backs on the attack made it look easy against the KES’ defence to level the scores 05-05. Despite launching wave after wave of attacks, KES’ defence kept Outeniqua from scoring several “deserved” tries. Unable to breach the KES defence, Outeniqua converted a penalty to lead 08-05 with eight minutes to play. However, from the kickoff, Outeniqua attacked from the kickoff and after spreading the ball wide, they scored in the corner to lead 13-05. Another converted penalty extended Outeniaua’s lead to 16-05 at the halftime break.

Outeniqua opened the scoring within three minutes of the second half with a great fifteen-man attack, creating space for their speedsters to extend their lead to 23-05. The following twenty minutes, KES had to absorb a lot of pressure; however, KES scored in the corner with their first visit in Outeniqua’s twenty-two to cut Outeniqua's lead to 23-10. With five minutes to play, KES were rewarded for playing entertaining rugby and their third try cut Outeniqua’s lead to 23-17 and five minutes to play. With time up Outeniqua scored a late try to beat KES 30-17.

EG Jansen 25-43 Drostdy HTS

EG started like a house on fire and scored a well-worked try, to which Drostdy replied almost immediately to level the scores 05-05 after ten minutes of play in the first half. Drostdy upped the pace of their attack, and despite making several mistakes, Drostdy scored four unanswered tries to lead 29-05 at the halftime break.

EG Jansen started like a house on fire and scored three tries to cut Drostdy’s lead to just 36-19. A late try by EG Jansen made the score a lot more respectable; however, Drostdy’s 29-05 lead at the halftime break proved to be the deciding factor. Drostdy scored a late try with time up on the clock to secure a well-deserved 43-24 win.

Waterkloof 45-07 Diamantveld

Waterkloof started like a house on fire, spreading the ball wide at every opportunity, and scored three tries within the first fifteen minutes of the first half to lead 19-00. Waterkloof dominated the rest of the first half, and apart from a try late in the first half, the speed of play by Waterkloof proved to be too much for the defence of Diaantveld. Waterkloof led 28-07 at the halftime break.

Waterkloof continued their form in the second half, scoring their first try within the first seven minutes of the second half, and continued to secure a great 45-07 win.

Nelspruit 29-14 Frameby

Nelspruit opened the scoring with two tries by their dangerous outside backs to lead 12-00 after ten minutes of play. Nelspruit's hard running at the defence led to Nelspruit scoring two more tries to lead 24-00 going into the second half.

Framesby started playing a “more” conservative game plan, and combined with a much better effort on the defence, they clawed their way back into the match and spent an extensive time on Nelspruit’s tryline; however, brilliant defence by Nelspruit stopped Framesby from scoring. After fifteen minutes of play in the second half, Framesby crashed over for their first try. With four minutes to play, Nelspruit scored their first try of the second half. Brilliant interplay and handling displayed by Nelspruit; however, Framesby’s reply was immediate and scored their second try of the match to cut Nelspruit's lead to 29-14, which was the final score.

Zwartkop 50-14 Voortrekker Beth

Zwartkop started like a house on fire and led 12-00 after ten minutes of play. Despite a try by Voortrekker, Zwartkop continued to dominate, playing a disciplined game plan, many will claim old-fashioned but effective and led 26-07 going into the second half.

Voortrekker opened the scoring in the second half; however, Zwartkop took complete control of the game and scored almost at will to win 50-14.
