
The Springbok Women’s Sevens secured a clinical 19-05 win over Great Britain at the HSBC SVNS Hong Kong.
Great Britain started like a house on fire and scored their first try to lead 05-00 after just a minute of play in the first half. However, the Springboks started to dominate, and a converted try by Maria Tshiremba, who showed brilliant pace, gave the Springboks a 07-05 lead going into the second half.
The Springboks started the second half looking much better, playing a more physical game plan, and Lerato Makua scored a deserved try. Byrhandre Dolf converted to extend the Springboks’ lead to 14-05. With time up on the clock, Maria Tshiremba scored her second try to secure the Springboks a deserved 19-05 win.
