
The Blitzboks secured the HSBC SVNS Series as well as the HSBC SVNS New York Cup with a 10-07 win against Fiji.
Brilliant work by Impi Visser led to the first try for the Blitzboks by Gino Cupido. The Blitzboks led 05-00 after just two minutes of play.
The rest of the first half was an arm-wrestle; however, no points were scored, and the Blitzboks led 05-00 at the halftime break.
Tristan Leyds scored the first try in the second half, extending the Blitzboks' lead to 10-00 after two minutes in the second half.
Fiji struck back two minutes later to cut the Blitzboks’ lead to three points. Fiji continued their onslaught, but a knock-on by Fiji on the attack, with a second to go, secured the win for the Blitzboks.
