France pounced on a spilt ball by the Blitzboks to open the scoring after four minutes of play. France led 07-00. A minute later, the Blitzboks attacked from their 22m, and eventually it was Tristan Leyds who scored in the corner to cut France’s lead and level the scores 07-07.
France took an early lead in the second half with two tries, extending their lead 21-07 after four minutes of play in the second half. With two minutes to play, Donovan Don scored a long-distance try to cut France’s lead to 21-12, which was the final score.
