
The Blitzboks started their Hong Kong SVNS campaign with a scrappy 12-07 win over Uruguay.
The Blitzboks had a scrappy start to this match; however, Tristan Leyds cut the defence of Uruguay in two with speed and power to score the Blitzboks' first points after six minutes of play in the first half. Seconds later, Selvyn Davids stepped his way past several defenders to extend the Blitzboks' lead to 12-00 at the halftime break, following the conversion by Tristan Leyds.
Uruguay dominated the second half and scored a well-worked try to cut the Blitzboks' lead to 12-07 with time up on the clock in the second half.
