Blitzboks Edge Great Britain In HSBC SVNS World Championship In Spain

 

The Blitzboks continued their dominance of Great Britain with a 17-12 win in extra time, in a Pool A clash at the 2026 HSBC SVNS World Championship, hosted at the Estadio José Zorrilla, Valladolid, Spain.

Great Britain opened the scoring when Charlton Kerr beat several defenders after 5 minutes in the first half to lead 05-00. However, Shilton van Wyk scored a long-distance try with time up on the clock to go into the break with the scores tied on 05-05.

After 4 minutes of play in the second half, Sebastiaan Jobb followed on a ball toed forward to score a long-distance try, extending the Blitzboks’ lead to 12-05 following the conversion by Dewald Human.

Great Britain sent the match into extra time following a try with time up on the clock.

A brilliant break by Tristan Leyds to score the Blitzboks third try, secured a 17-12 win.
