
The Blitzboks crashed to an uninspiring 07-31 loss to Spain in their second Pool A match at the Hong Kong SVNS.
Spain started like a house on fire and scored a try after two minutes of play to lead 07-00. With time up on the clock, Spain scored a brilliant second try to lead 14-00 going into the second half.
Spain continued their dominance in the second half and scored their third try two minutes into the second half to lead 19-00. Shilton van Wyk cut the defence of Spain in two to score the Blitzboks first try of the match to cut Spain’s lead to 19-07; however, Spain replied immediately with a seven-pointer. Donovan Don scored a consolation try to lose 31-12. This was Spain’s first win over the Blitzboks.
