
The Blitzboks secured a brilliant 19-07 win against Argentina in the HSBC SVNS World Championship semi-final in Spain, to secure their place in the final against Australia today at 16:26 (SA Time).
The Blitzboks started the Cup Semi-final like a house on fire, and Sebastiaan Jobb struck down the touchline to score the Blitzboks’ first try to lead 05-00 after two minutes of play. However, Argentina struck back two minutes later, and the successful conversion edged Argentina 07-05 into the lead, which was also the halftime score.
A brilliant solo effort by Ricardo Duarttee, stepping past several defenders, led to him scoring the Blitzboks second try. Duarttee also converted the try to extend the Blitzboks’ lead to 12-07, with 2 minutes to play. Ryan Oosthuizen added the Blitzboks’ 3rd try to win 19-07.
