Australia scored two early tries to lead 12-00 after three minutes of play in the first half; thereafter, South Africa put up a valiant fight; however, with time up on the clock, Australia pounced on a mistake by South Africa to extend their lead to 19-00 at the halfrime break. Australia scored two tries in the second half to win 33-00.
