The cream of South African schoolboy rugby will take centre stage on Thursday, July 16, 2026, when the SA Schools and SA Schools ‘A’ teams face off in their annual showcase match at Grey High School.
The highly anticipated fixture, kicking off at 15:00 (SA Time) on the iconic Kolisi Field, brings together the top-performing players from the recently concluded Under-18 Craven Week tournament.
Loose forward Lwandile Mlaba (Westville Boys' High School) has been handed the honour of captaining the main SA Schools side. His counterpart, loose forward Hendré van Zyl (Paarl Gimnasium), will lead the SA Schools ‘A’ team into battle.
The selections reflect a highly competitive schoolboys landscape, drawing talent from traditional rugby powerhouses across the country. Western Province and the Golden Lions feature heavily across both squads, alongside strong representation from KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
