Blitzboks Secure 2026 HSBC SNVS World Championship With Win Over Fiji In Quarter Final At Bordeaux

 

The Blitzboks secured the 2026 HSBC SVNS World Championship with a 14-12 win over Fiji, and also qualified for the semi-finals in Bordeaux against France on Sunday at 13:14 (SA Time).

A yellow card for Ryan Oosthuizen opened up gaps in the Blitzboks' defence, and Fiji scored two tries in quick succession to lead 12-00 before Oosthuizen’s return to play. The Blitzboks clawed their way back into the match, and Sebastiaan Jobb scored the Blitzboks’ first try of the match. Duarttee converted to cut Fiji’s lead to 12-07 going into the second half.

2 minutes into the second half, Sebastiaan Jobb scored his second try following brilliant interplay to edge the Blitzboks into a lead 14-12 following Duarttee’s conversion.
