
It was a night of recognition, reflection, and renewed intent for The Sharks, as the club hosted its annual Player Awards evening at Sun Sibaya on 12 May 2026.
While the 2025/26 season delivered mixed results on the field, the evening highlighted the resilience and growth within the squad - from established leaders driving standards to emerging talent continuing to push through the system. It was a reminder that progress is not only measured in results, but in consistency, character, and collective commitment.
Standout performances across competitions were acknowledged, with multiple players earning recognition for their impact throughout the campaign. Speaking on the night, head coach of the Hollywoodbets Sharks JP Pietersen emphasised the importance of building forward with belief in the squad’s development pathway and the strength within the Sharks environment.
