
The Blitzboks secured their first-ever HSBC SVNS Hong Kong title with a commanding 35-07 win over Argentina.
The Blitzboks took less than a minute in the first half to score the first try of the match. Tristan Leyds kicked the ball upfield, which he collected, outsprinting Argentina’s defender, to score the try. Leyd converted the try to extend the Blitzboks’ lead to 07-00. Argentina hit back immediately and scored a brilliant try to level the scores after four minutes of play. Tristan Leyds played a big part in Selvyn Davids scoring the Blitzboks’ second try, extending the Blitzboks’ lead to 14-07, which was the score at the halftime break.
Sebastian Jobb pounced on a mistake by Argentina and offloaded to Ryan Oosthuizen, who scored a brilliant team try, extending the Blitzboks’ lead to 21-07 with six minutes still to play in the second half. Shilton van Wyk collected a grubber by Tristan Leyds to score the Blitzboks’ fourth try with three minutes still to play. Selvyn Davids added his name to the scoresheet with two minutes to play. Ronald Brown converted, extending the Blitzboks' lead to 35-07, which secured their first-ever HSBC SVNS Hong Kong Title.
