Hacjivah Dayimani is said to be rejoining the DHL Stormers on a “short-term” deal from French club Racing 92, and is expected to be available for selection as early as the Stormers' next United Rugby Championship clash against the Lions on February 28, 2026.
Dayimani featured 19 times for Racing 92, scoring three tries, after securing an early release from the Stormers following the 2023-24 season.
His return is a direct response to the long-term injury of loose forward Ruan Ackermann. While primarily a loose forward, his height and line-out jumping ability are expected to bolster the squad's depleted lock options.
The Stormers plan to use Dayimani’s physicality and underrated lineout ability at the side of the scrum, while shifting Ben-Jason Dixon back into a role at No 4 lock that he has filled previously to provide cover for locks Salmaan Moerat and Ruben van Heerden, who are both facing extended spells on the sidelines. That has left Adre Smith, JD Schickerling and Connor Evans as the only recognised locks available.
