With only two matches to play in the NoordVaal Cup competition, it was a bit of a "surprise" to see former Pretoria "Rugby Schools" Waterkloof and Menlopark fighting to escape relegation at the end of the year.
At the end of 2025, two schools in the NoordVaal Cup will be automatically relegated and one school promoted from the Plate. This will reduce the Cup Division to nine schools. At this stage, Middelburg HTS, Middelburg and Wesvalia are leading the log in the Plate Division.
It must be noted that five schools, EG Jansen, Runstenburg, Menlopark, Transvalia and Waterkloof, are within six points of each other at the bottom of the log. Nelspruit, with 129 points, only has one fixture against Nelspruit, is in last place and will be relegated.
EG Jansen must travel to Nelspruit and host Garsfontein over the next two weeks, achieving 157.5 points. Rustenburg is also on 157,5 points, and must play Monnas at home and Menlopark in Pretoria to play. Menlopark is on 155,0 points and will host Rustenburg and travel to Krugersdorp to face Noordheuwel. Waterkloof on 151,5 points will host Transvalia and Monnas.
