
The Vodacom Bulls have made wholesale changes to their Currie Cup and Junior coaching staff leading into the start of the 2026 season.
Assistant coach at the senior team, Phiwe Nomlomo, remains as head coach of the Currie Cup team and the planned SA Rugby Franchise U23 competition, which is said to start in March 2026.
Wessel du Plessis, head of junior rugby 2025, is promoted to the Currie Cup as well as the SA Rugby Franchise U23 competition as an assistant coach, responsible for defence.
Jaques van Rooyen, U19 and U21 forward coach 2025, is promoted to the Currie Cup as well as the SA Rugby Franchise U23 competition as an assistant coach, responsible for the forwards.
James Winstanley was appointed by Jake White as Junior Pathway Manager and assistant Currie Cup coach in 2025, and will head the coaching of the U20 group in 2026. Winstanley was previously the coach of the Kingswood 1stXV and the SA U18 coach.
Edgar Maratule, who was head coach of the Bulls U21, will assist Winstanley at the U20S.
