
The Vodacom Bulls secured a place in the EPCR Challenge Cup Top 16 with an emphatic 48-07 win over Stade Francais Paris at Loftus on Saturday afternoon.
A mistake by Stade de Francais put them under severe pressure, which led to a penalty try after two minutes of play in the first half.
Ten minutes later, the Bulls attacked down the touchline when Devon Williams collected a crosskick by Sergeal Petersen to score the Bulls' second try. Johan Goosen converted to extend the Bulls lead to 14-00 after thirteen minutes of play.
The Bulls continued to apply the pressure forcing Stade Francais to make several errors on the attack and defense. Embrose took a quick tap from a penalty and scored the Bulls' third try. Johan Goosen converted extending the Bulls' lead to 21-00 after nineteen minutes of play.
Stade Francaise scored following a five-meter lineout-mall seven minutes later when captain Sekou Macalou bulldozed his way over. Louis Carbonel converted.
From the kickoff, the Bulls attacked, and Ruan Vermaak scored in the corner to extend the Bulls' lead to 26-07.
With seven minutes to play, Johan Goosen extended the Bull's lead to 29-07 with a converted penalty.
The Bulls continued their physical dominance when Elrigh Louw crashed over the tryline to score their fifth try. Boeta Chamberlain added the extra two points to extend the Bulls' lead to 36-07 going into the halftime break.
The Bulls continued their try-scoring in the second half and an interception by Stedman Gans led to a try of Boeta Chamberlain, who also converted the try to extend the Bulls' lead to 43-07.
Five minutes later Cameron Hanekom crashed over in the corner to extend the Bulls' lead to 48-07. The remainder of the second half became a bit of a bore as both teams struggled with the heat.
