The Valke u/20 hosted the Lions u/20 on Friday at the NWU Vaal Kampus in the first of three matches in the opening round of the u/20 SA Rugby Cup, and were humiliated losing 73-03.
As with the Eastern Province in 2022, it was clear that the other teams could and will use their third choice of players whenever they play against the hapless Valke u/20. Unfortunately, the Valke team is only good for a rugby academy or two who can post that their players are playing u/20 Currie Cup Rugby. It is useless to humiliate boys with dreams in their eyes.
The Lions u/20 scored 11 tries to the 1 of the Valke u/20 and already led 38-00 at the halftime break.
Scorers:
Valke u/20: Try: Kristoff Smith. Conversion: Danny Van Staden.
