URC – Edinburgh Rugby Cruise To A Bonus-point Win Over DHL Stormers

Edinburgh cruised to a 28-07 win against the DHL Stormers, securing their first win of the 2024/25 United Rugby Championship. Edinburgh secured their first win since May at home.

Edinburgh dominated the stats from minute one of the match and deservedly won 28-07 against the DHL Stormers who were never a threat to the home team.

Despite both sides having several scoring opportunities, it was Edinburgh who crossed the tryline when Patrick Harrison bulldozed his way over to give Edinburgh a 07-00 lead after twenty minutes of play.

Minutes later Ben Muncaster scored Edinburgh's second try following some halfhearted defence from the visitors.

DHL Stormers set up camp in Edinburgh's red zone for seven minutes and eventually scored their first points when Ruan Nel barged past several defenders to open the Stormers' account, curring the hosts' lead to 14-07 and seven minutes still to play in the first half.

The Stormers had a confident start to the second half, however following Stomers' try disallowed, Edinburgh took back control of the match and scored their third try when quick hands led to Darcy Graham scoring in the corner to extend Edinburgh's lead to 21-07 after twenty minutes of play.

Three minutes later captain Grant Gilchrist added his name to the scorecard of Edinburgh when he bulldozed his way over the Stormers' tryline for Edinburgh's fourth and bonus point try.

A converted penalty by Ross Thompson extended Edinburgh's lead to 31-07. Captain Ben Muncaster scored his second try with time up on the clock, extending Edinburgh's lead to 38-07, securing their first win since May at home.
