
Western Province, Border and the Blue Bulls are the only unbeaten teams left after two rounds of SA Rugby’s Under-20 Women’s Week, currently on the go in Johannesburg.
While WP and Border recorded relatively easy victories over the Lions and Sharks respectively, the Bulls had to work hard for their win over Eastern Province on Monday.
WP beat the hosts by 24-5 and Border were too strong for the Sharks with a 31-7 win, while EP pushed the Bulls close, with the team from Pretoria winning by 10-5.
In the three other second-round matches at Queens High School, Free State beat Griquas by 17-0; the Valke beat Boland by 15-7; and SWD recorded a 24-0 victory over Limpopo Blue Bulls.
The week concludes with the final round of matches on Wednesday after which a Junior Springbok Women’s team will be announced for the four-team R10 African U20 Women’s Series, where they will be up against U20 teams from Uganda, Tunisia and the San Clemente Rhinos.
