Hollywood Foundation Pumas 44-22 Limpopo Blue Bulls

In an action-packed first half, the Pumas and Limpopo Bulls scored two tries each; however, the Limpopo Bulls led 14-12 at the halftime break. Apart from an early Limpopo Bulls try in the second half, the Pumas took complete control of the match, scoring three tries to lead 37-17 with twenty minutes still to play. A try each during the final twenty minutes secured a 44-22 win for the hosts.

Blue Bulls 35-36 Obaro Golden Lions

The Blue Bulls scored two early tries and led 10-00 after twenty minutes of play. The Lions got their hands on quality attacking ball and edged into a 14-13 lead after scoring two late tries. The Bulls ended the first half scoring a try after time was up on the clock to go into the second half leading 20-14. The Lions scored two tries in the first ten minutes of the second half to lead 26-20. The Lions scored their fifth try to lead 33-23 and were seemingly on their way to a comfortable win; however, a yellow card against the Lions led to the Bulls scoring two tries in quick succession to retake the lead 35-33. However, with time running out, the Lions converted to edge the Bulls 36-35.

SWD started like a house on fire and converted an early penalty, whereafter both teams added a try each, SWD leading 08-05 after ten minutes of play. The Cheetahs took the lead, 12-10, with a brilliant try in the corner after thirty minutes of play in the first half. The Free State added two tries in the second half and led 27-16 with fifteen minutes to play in the second half. Two yellow cards shown to the Free State in quick succession resulted in SWD staging a blitz comeback to take a 35-27 lead with eight minutes to play in the second half. Despite a late try by the Free State, SWD hung on for a 35-34 win.

As expected, the Western Province dominated from the start of this match, scoring four tries to the one conversion of a penalty by the Griffons. Western Province led 24-03 at the halftime break. The DHL Western Province XV continued their onslaught in the second half and cruised to an eight-try, 52-06 win.
