
The Toyota Cheetahs lost 66-21 to Lyon Olympique Universitaire in a try fest with Lyon scoring ten tries to the three scored by the Toyota Cheetahs.
A first-half double from Josiah Maraku put Lyon Olympique Universitaire in poll position against Toyota Cheetahs.
Daniel Maartens opened the scoring for Cheetahs, but two tries in the first 20 minutes from Davit Niniashvili and Dylan Cretin put Lyon ahead before Maraku secured the bonus point with his two tries, and Martin Page-Relo got their fifth to make it 38-07 at the break.
Lyon continued their brilliant form in the second half and scored three tries before Prince Nkabinde ran eighty meters to score the Cheetahs' second try with twelve minutes still to play.
Alban Roussel added Lyon's ninth try, whereafter, Neels Volschenk scored the Cheetahs' third try. However, Lyon was not done yet and hooker Camille Chat scored their tenth to secure a 68-21 win.
