Toyota Challenge kicked off when the Toyota Cheetahs hosted the Vodacom Bulls XV in Bloemfontein. The Toyota Cheetahs managed to win with 17-14 in a match that struggled to get going.
Both teams were willing to play rugby, however, several unforced early season mistakes made this a stop-start affair.
02:44 Mzwanele Zito scored from the back of a 5m lineout maul. (05-00)
12:51 Jaques van Rooyen bulldozed his way over the host's tryline and scored the Vodacom Bulls XV's first try after the Bulls launched attack after attack on the tryline of the Toyota Cheetahs. (05:07)
20:00 The Vodacom Bulls XV had the momentum in their favour at the end of the first quarter, however, there was still a lot in the match.
