The Toyota Cheetahs is in Western Australia and will face the Western Force on Friday, 29 September in Round 3 of the Toyota Challenge. The match at the Lane Group Stadium in Mandurah kicks off at 13:00 (SA time) and will be live on SuperSport.
The 2023 Toyota Challenge boast a total prize money of R1 million, with R250,000 awarded for each match. The Bloemfontein side took the first two rounds by beating Western Force 31-27 and 27-12 and will battle it out in Australia for the next two rounds. This significant prize money not only adds to the intensity of the competition but also recognises the outstanding efforts of the teams.
“We’ve selected a strong and experienced team on the first game on tour against Western Force,” said the Toyota Cheetahs head coach, Hawies Fourie
“We look forward to the game. A few playing are coming back in the myths, like Reinhardt Fortuin, and Daniel Kasende in the backline and it will make a difference. We will use the Toyota Challenge games again to prepare for the European Challenge Cup in December, giving some players the opportunity for the team and that tour, so it’s an important series for us against the Western Force and we believe it will go well on Friday.”
”We are very fortunate to have a sponsor like Toyota SA who made this tour possible.”
