Stellenberg High School Make Changes To 1stXV Coaching Staff

Stellenberg named changes to their 1stXV coaching staff in anticipation of their first year competing in the Western Province High Schools' Premier "A" league in 2023, which is the league in which the top rugby schools in the Western Cape compete.

Stellenberg Rugby has shown over the past few years that innovative thinking is part of their success story and the appointment of the new coaches for the 1stXV once again is a testament to "clever" thinking. Stellenberg is not following the norm which will be to appoint "big" names for a big year but rather rewarded coaches in their system for years of brilliance service and dedication.

Stellenberg Head of Rugby Duppie du Preez confirmed that Divan Batt will remain as the head coach of the first fifteen and confirmed the appointment of a new forward and backline coach.

Louw Lombaard was appointed as the new forward coach of the 1stXV.  Louw is coaching since 2014 and earned his stripes coaching Stellenberg seccies with distinction during the past seven years.

Jaco Laubscher was also named as the 1stXVs backline coach in 2023. Laubscher has also earned his stripes coaching Stellenberg's seccies for the past fifteen years and has represented the Western Province at u/16 and u/18 at the youth weeks as a centre. Laubscher is a Stellenberg High School Rugby Alumni.
