With most of the schools in KwaZulu Natal not paying rugby in the third term the following two weeks will be their last chances to earn some valuable ranking points as well as bragging rights for 2024.
A struggling Glenwood will want to forget 2024 as soon as possible and travel to Kearsney looking to break a five-match losing streak while their host will look to end a nine-match losing streak.
Michaelhouse will host Pretoria Boys High and despite losing to Maritzburg College a week ago they should be the favourites to repeat their win in Pretoria in 2023. However, despite not having a great season on the scoreboard Pretoria Boys High who lost 22-27 to Jeppe a week ago will fight until the fat lady has already packed up and is on her way.
Northwood is having a good season with only two losses so far this season. Their last two matches were an 08-40 loss to Jeppe and a 31-24 win over a struggling Glenwood. Maritzburg lost four of their twelve matches, however, it was against the who's who of SA Schoolboy rugby. Apparently, both sides are missing some key players, however, Maritzburg must be the favourites or maybe Northwood is the clever pick.
A Westville full of confidence will host Hilton on Saturday following a surprising 36-36 draw to KES a week ago. Hilton, on the other hand, had a bye last weekend and should have the edge regarding injuries and should be fresher especially since a lot of trials were played leading to the announcement of the Sharks Craven Week squad. Westville has seven boys in the two squads while Hilton only has two, mmmmm.
