The hosts started at a frantic pace, carving open the defence five times in the opening thirty minutes through Marko Kok, Lindelani Nkambule, Thapelo Mphela, McMillen Mongwana, and Zenkosi Mthiyane. Flyhalf Matthew Abbey was lethal off the tee, slotting four consecutive conversions to rapidly build a massive lead.
Shell-shocked, the Leopards rang a triple tactical substitution before the break, which paid off instantly when Eagan Roux crossed the line to leave the halftime score at 33-05.
