The young Bulls overpowered DHL Western Province 50-5 in Pretoria on Friday afternoon, which has seen them take the lead in the competition on 10 points from two games and a better points differential then their neighbours from Johannesburg, who are on the same number of log points.
The Lions cruised past the Leopards by a margin of 59-17 on the same day, while the Hollywoodbets Sharks edged the Toyota Cheetahs 29-10 in their Saturday encounter staged in Durban.
That victory lifted the Sharks to nine points and third on the table, while DHL WP slipped to fourth place with five points. The Free Staters and Leopards are yet to open their tally.
This coming weekend, WP are set to get the action rolling when they entertain the Lions from noon on Friday in Cape Town; the Leopards and Cheetahs clash from 11h30 in Potchefstroom on Saturday, the same time the Sharks face the Bulls in Durban.
