The best place to spend your Monday is definately at Pretoria Boys High, joining them to celebrate 125 years of greatness.
If the matches on Saturday are anything to go by, the intensity and action are going to be even more spectacular when the invited schools face each other in almost perfect match-ups.
Fixtures Monday 06 June 2026
09:00 Selborne vs Parktown
Both Selborne and Parktown suffered losses on Saturday. Parktown showed they were at their best when the game is without structure, and they are allowed to run from everywhere. Selborne, on the other hand, dominated possession and territory against Rondebosch but could not convert that into domination on the scoreboard. They were vulnerable against the hard running of Rondebosch, who, at the end of the match, scored almost at will. Taking everything into account, Selborne should use their structured play to beat Parktown by at least twenty.
10:30 SACS vs Maritzburg College
This could be the match of the day when SACS, who lost by one point to Pretoria Boys High, and Maritzburg College, who beat Jeppe by twenty-three points, face each other. SACS was beaten by the speed of Pretoria Boys High out wide, and if they can up their defence they should be very difficult to beat. Maritzburg College is a balanced team with a proper, structured game plan and some silky running backs. To predict this one is difficult, but if I have to, I will back SACS if they can put the loss to Pretoria Boys High behind them.
12:00 Affies vs Grey High
Gery High beat Parktown 40-18, and following Affies’ “performance” against Michaelhouse, the Grey boys will think they can cause another upset. However, I heard that there was some activity down the road on Sunday morning, and this may just be what Affies needed. Unfortunately, the boys from Gqeberha will be up against Affies, who will be intent on restoring some pride in the white jersey. Affies should win by thirty, if ....
13:30 Jeppe vs Michaelhouse
Unfortunately, it seems that the win over Garsfontein was Jeppe’s claim to fame in 2026. Michaelhouse showed against Affies that they are a top SA schoolboy rugby team and should beat Jeppe convincingly.
15:00 Pretoria Boys High vs Rondebosch
This should be exactly what the organisers have hoped for. Pretoria Boys High will be on a high following their win over SACS. They are a properly coached squad with proper speed and handling out wide; however, Rondebosch will be Pretoria Boys High’s biggest challenge to date, and dare I predict that this could not be a happy day for the hosts. However, an “upset” will not really be an upset as Paul Anthony and his coaching staff have planned for this match for more than a year, and they will make it a proper battle, walking off the field with their heads held high.
