Lions kicking coach Morne Steyn has confirmed that the injury to JC Pretorius will keep him off the field for an expected period of four months.
Pretorius was a key player in the Lions' 29-18 win over Scarlets in Round 4 of the United Rugby Championship. left the field with a suspected knee injury.
Pretorius suffered a hamstring injury during training in early March 2025 and only returned against Benetton two weeks ago, just to be sidelined for another four months.
Pretorius joins Juan Schoeman, Jaco Visagie, PJ Botha, Raynard Roets, Sebastian Lombard, Izan Esterhuizen, Erich Cronje, Siba Qoma, Morgan Naude, Rabz Maxwane, Stian de Bruyn, Heiko Pohlman, Tiaan Wessels, Morne van den Berg and Ruan Delport.
