It has been confirmed by Jake White, Director of Rugby at the Vodacom Bulls that schoolboy superstar Jan-Hendrik Wessels will run out for the Pretoria Rugby Club's 1stXV against TUKS' Carlton Cup team as a hooker this weekend.
Wessels has played at lock, loosehead prop, tighthead prop and now hooker since his grade eleven year at Grey College. White has thanked the Bulls' rugby clubs for accommodating some of the Bulls players at the request of the Bulls.
He stressed this move is part of the career planning of Wessels. He said that at prop there are several quality players ahead of Wessels in the pecking order and that he will get national exposure at hooker sooner than at prop.
White said that Wessels is such a talented player that he needs to find the best position for Wessels in order to warrant his selection for the Vodacom Bulls later in 2021.
