Jake White Said They Do Not Need Motivation For Saturday

Vodacom Bulls Director of Rugby, Jake White, said they do not need motivation for Saturday's quarter-final against Edinburgh and that they are looking for an eighty-minute effort.

“Edinburgh beat us a couple of weeks ago, so it’s not much I need to say because I think the players understand, we play Sharks or Munster next week if we win obviously, and I’m just saying those were two teams that beat us this year."

“ The Sharks and Edinburgh have beaten us. So, there’s not much that I need to say in terms of getting them ready for the quarter and possibly the semi-final.

“We finished well against Edinburgh earlier. That gives me hope. We can take a lot out of that game. Like I said, after that game had it gone on for another five minutes, I have no doubt that we would have won it, and that says a lot."

“There are a lot of things that I look at in that game and know that if I were a little bit more streetwise and aware of what happened last time, it would help us this time around.”

“For me, it’s about 80 minutes and about getting all those little things right anyway.”

He also said they learnt the hard way that a fast start doesn't mean they will go on to win a match, and they are prepared for that heading into the playoffs against Edinburgh.

“We know that we need to start well in these knockout games, but we also know that we lost to Glasgow in a final because we allowed them to score on halftime with a penalty that we gave away, and we didn’t score in the last minute of the game with a driving lineout."

“There are a lot of other lessons we have learnt. We started so well, we were 13-0 up in the final, and we lost it. So for me, it is about 80 minutes, and getting all those little things right … starts, finishing, benches, rotation, game time. All of those things are what we have to look at and get right.”
