The Wallabies have been forced into a late change for their one-off Test match against the Springboks in Perth on Sunday morning at 11:45 SAST.
Josh Canham pulled up with a minor hamstring strain during a training session on Friday and has been ruled out of the clash. As a result, his Queensland Reds teammate Lukhan Salakaia-Loto moves into the starting line-up to partner Jeremy Williams in the second row. Lachie Shaw has been promoted to the replacements bench to cover the vacancy.
The late change alters Australia's set-piece strategy, as Canham was slated as the primary line-out caller. Captain Harry Wilson confirmed that Williams will now take over line-out calling duties.
Australia's adjusted match-day squad is preparing to face a heavily rotated but formidable South African side. Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus made 13 changes to the starting line-up that recently defeated the All Blacks in Baltimore, handing the captaincy to André Esterhuizen.
