Fidelity ADT Lions u/21 And DHL Western Province u/21 Remain Unbeaten

 

Fidelity ADT Lions u/21 and DHL Western Province u/21 remained unbeaten following the scheduled fixtures in Round Two while the Cell C Sharks got their season back on track with a great win against the Toyota Cheetahs u/21.

The SA Rugby Under-21 Cup is back after pandemic-related disruptions in the last few seasons. In 2022, the Vodacom Bulls, Toyota Cheetahs, Leopards, Lions, Hollywoodbets Sharks and DHL Western Province battled it out for the SA Rugby Under-21 Cup, and the same six teams are back in 2023. The final is scheduled for mid-October.

Vodacom Bulls u/21 27-34 DHL Western Province u/21

DHL Western Province had to fight off a late charge by the Vodacom Bulls u/21 in Pretoria to secure their second bonus point win of the 2023 season. They led 24-10 at the halftime break.

The main difference between the two teams was Sacha Mngomezulu's performance of the tee while the Vodacom Bulls u/21s struggled to convert easy opportunities into points.

Fidelity ADT Lions u/21 47-19 Leopards u/21

The Fidelity Lions u/21 once again were brilliant in their second win of the season, beating the Leopards u/21 convincingly 47-19, scoring seven tries to the three of the Leopards u/21.

The Leopards u/21 trailed 14-28 at the halftime break, however, they could only add a try in the second half while Fidelity ADT Lions u/21 scored three tries.

Hollywood Bets Sharks u/21 31-13 Toyota Cheetahs u/21

Both the Hollywood Bets Sharks and Toyota Cheetahs u/21 were still looking for their first win of the season, however, the hosts managed to secure a well-deserved win in the second half, after they led 12-08 at the end of the first half.

The Hollywood Bets Sharks u/21 outscored their visitors with five tries to two and earned the maximum five log points to get their season back on track. Hooker Ethan Bester scored three tries from the back of lineout mauls.
