DHL Stormers coach John Dobson has delivered a positive injury update ahead of the team’s United Rugby Championship quarter-final rematch against Cardiff, set for Saturday, 23 May 2026, in Cape Town.
Despite a physically taxing defeat in their final league fixture, Dobson confirmed that the squad emerged without any new serious injury concerns. The return of captain Ruhan Nel and dynamic winger Seabelo Senatla is considered a major boost for the Stormers as they gear up for the knockout stage.
“Ruhan is back as captain, and he leads the defence. It’s massive,” Dobson said. “I think we’ve really missed Seabelo Senatla the whole season. He gets people out of their seats, and he’ll be back for the quarter-final and maybe one or two other players.”
Dobson added that, aside from a few long-term absentees, he expects to field a near full-strength team for the URC quarter-final.
