DHL Stormers forwards coach Rito Hlungwani said the DHL Stormers are unsure of the availability of Sasha-Feinburg Mngomezulu and Leolin Zas for the clash against the Hollywoodbets Sharks at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday
Feinberg-Mngomezulu left the field on Saturday against the Emirates Lions game with a hip pointer while he was unsure of the injury to Zas. Hlungwani also confirmed the presence of long-term absentee No 8 Evan Roos at training.
“Sacha trained, he was out on the field today, Zas didn’t train so not sure he’s going to make it, but we might have a look later in the week. Those are the two guys who are concerns after the Lions match. Evan is still not available but he’s also training.”
“It’s always nice when a player comes back from injury, and a player of that calibre like Sacha.”
“It’s a pity he got off early against the Lions, but at that moment on the field it didn’t look too serious, it’s possible we could select him this weekend.
“He’s just been quite unlucky with injuries but hopefully he can string a few games together.”
“The one thing I’ll tell you is that he’s always engaged even when he’s injured."
“He’s always around our training centre."
“He contributes in how we plan our weeks and training and how we analyse other teams."
“As much as you guys don’t see him, we still see his contribution.
“The fact that he still feels part of the team and wants to give to the team."
“In terms of analysing, sharing information and seeing things the guys are not seeing."
“In a perfect world, we want him to string a couple of games together.”
