The DHL Stormers’ coach, Rito Hlungwani, made it clear that they targeted the match against Benetton. Benetton has never lost to the DHL Stormers at home, beating them 20-17 in 2023 and 22-18 in 2021.
“The test this week for us is Benetton, that’s the team we really want to beat. The team is aware of the challenge and is determined to reverse this trend.”
“We’ve never beaten them on their home ground, so after this game we’ll be sitting in a position where we can look at the tour and assess all the little details of how we can do things differently next time,” Hlungwani said.
“We need to step it up a level. Every opportunity we get, we want to break the opponent. We're doing well, but we still feel there's room for us to be more ruthless.”
“ Definitely, we're going to have confidence following our 56-05 win at home over Benetton earlier this year”
“Just going into this week, we never know how the game is going to go on Saturday. But you're always expecting it to be the worst feeling, the most difficult game that you've been a part of. You kind of have that in your mind, and you prepare for it to be something along those lines. That's kind of what we're preparing for. It'll be an eighty-minute performance.”
