Dawie Snyman Expects A Tough “Test match” Challenge From Edinburgh

DHL Stormers attack coach, Dawie Snyman, said on Tuesday that he expects a tough "Test match" challenge when they host Edinburgh on Saturday at 19:00 (SA Time).

According to Snyman, the primary challenge for the Stormers will be sharpening their finishing and execution to avoid being punished by an experienced Edinburgh side.

“It’s just a little bit about options, our skill execution, that type of stuff that we want to focus on. I think it’s just maybe wrong options, timing, and, as I said, skill execution that’s just a little bit behind. So it’s small stuff, and it’s definitely an area we want to fix and improve on.”

Snyman warns that Edinburgh brings a high level of intensity and experience, bolstered by returning international stars like Pierre Schoeman, Grant Gilchrist, and Darcy Graham.

“Those are quality players that will obviously bring energy and leadership into their group,” Snyman said.

Following a frustrating win over the Dragons, where many opportunities were missed, Snyman said that failing to convert chances against Edinburgh will lead to being put under significant pressure.

“I think these areas in the game against the Dragons, against a team like Edinburgh, if you don’t finish those opportunities, if you’re not sharp enough, they can put you under pressure. It’s a team that understands Test match mentality as well.

Snyman confirmed that the Stormers will be without wing Seabelo Senatla due to a calf injury.
