Cobus Reinach shared on his X that he successfully underwent a surgical procedure for a groin hernia to address a long-standing issue that had hampered his training for several months.
He indicated that the decision was made to ensure he could perform at his best for the remainder of the 2026 season; however, he failed to provide a date of return and referred to the operation as a “quick pit stop” that went well, and he expects to be back soon.
Reinach was named in the DHL Stormers starting line-up for the match in Durban against the Hollywoodbets Sharks on Saturday, and scored a brilliant try in the opening seconds of the match. He was substituted following fifteen minutes of play in the second half.
