The victory caps off a sensational 7-match unbeaten streak for Welkom Gim, completely transforming their seasonal narrative after a rocky start to the year. Conversely, it was a bitter pill to swallow for a struggling Bethlehem Voortrekker side, who ended a grueling campaign losing 10 of their 14 matches.
Gqeberha witnessed absolute history on Friday as Grey High School completely dismantled Muir College 113-05 on Kolisi Field. Running in a ruthless 17 tries, Grey High put on an offensive masterclass that marked their highest scoring margin of the 2026 calendar year.
Elsewhere in the province, Selborne College returned to winning ways to beat Dale College 28-17. Nico Malan ended their season on a high, and secured a 26-12 win over Die Brandwag (EP).
Up in KwaZulu-Natal, traditional powerhouses made resounding statements both at home and on travel duties.
Maritzburg College absolutely dominated Glenwood High School, storming to a 64-07 victory on Goldstones. The Red, Black and White pack laid a brutal foundation from the opening whistle, suffocating the "Green Machine" in every facet of play to turn the classic KZN derby into a total one-sided masterclass.
Meanwhile, cross-provincial fireworks saw Durban High School (DHS) edge KES 22-12 in Johannesburg.
