Bergh Names Team To Face Vodacom Bulls XV And Demands Disciplined Performance

Griquas head coach Pieter Bergh has demanded a sharp disciplinary turnaround ahead of Saturday’s crucial Currie Cup clash against the Bulls XV in Kimberley.

Both sides are desperate for a win after stumbling in the opening round. The defending champion Griquas suffered a heartbreaking, last-minute 25-19 loss to the Stormers XXIII in Cape Town. Meanwhile, the Bulls XV fell 24-10 to the Boland Cavaliers in muddy Wellington conditions.

Bergh did not hide his frustration regarding the errors that cost his team last weekend. Lock Derik Pretorius received a costly red card, and out of the team's eight total penalties were due to poor discipline.

"Everyone knows we can't afford a repeat of that," Bergh said.

With both teams sitting on zero points, Bergh expects an intense, high-stakes battle, but predicts a completely different style of rugby compared to opening weekend.

With Pretorius suspended, Lungisi Mbiko steps up to make his Currie Cup debut in the second row.
