The Vodacom Bulls u/21 is the only unbeaten side in the 2022 SARU u/21 Cup and is definitely the team to beat in this year's competition.
The Vodacom Bulls u/21 is leading the pack with fifteen points, six more than second-placed DHL WP u/21. DHL WP u/21's only loss this season was against the Vodacom Bulls u/21 two weeks ago in Stellenbosch. The Lions u/21 and Leopards u/21 have won one match each while the Cell C Sharks u/21 and Toyota Cheetahs u/21 is still looking for their first win of the season.

Lions u/21 17-25 DHL Western Province u/21
DHL Western Province u/21 dominated the first 40 minutes of play to such an extent that the Lions u/21s only entered the 22m of their visitors twice. The Lions u/21s' struggles in the scrums not only provided a steady flow of penalties for DHL Western Province u/21, but it also disrupted the normal attacking mindset of the Lions u/21.
DHL Western Province u/21 led 22-05 at the halftime break and was seemingly cruising to an easy and convincing win.
However, the halftime talk seemingly re-energised the hosts who came out firing in the second half. The Lions u/21s scored two unanswered tries in the second half, unfortunately, time ran out for the hosts and they lost 17-25 to a visibly tiring DHL Western Province u/21 who could only add a converted penalty in the second half.
Scorers:
Lions u/21: Tries: Jacques-lois Du Toit, Ricardo Fourie, Okuhle Siyeni. Conversion: Nico Steyn.
DHL Western Province u/21: Tries: Paul De Villiers, Imad Khan, Paschal Ekeji. Conversions: Imad Khan. Penalties: Imad Khan (2).
Vodacom Bulls u/21 47-19 Cell C Sharks u/21
The Vodacom Bulls u/21 continued their dominance of the SARU u/21 Cup competition when they played the Cell C Sharks u/21 side at Loftus yesterday. In a dominant performance, they earned the maximum five log points in a 47-19 win.
The Cell C Sharks u/21 showed from the first whistle that they intended to spread the ball wide at every opportunity. The Vodacom Bulls u/21's pack of forwards had other ideas and dominated from early on starving the Cell C Sharks u/21's from quality attacking ball.
The halftime score could also have looked a lot worse for the visitors as the Vodacom Bulls u/21's conceded several penalties in the red zone of the visitors. The Cell C Sharks scored their only points late in the first half to trail 05-28 at the halftime break.
During the second half, the game opened up quite a lot allowing the Cell C Sharks u/21's a lot more attacking opportunities. However, the Vodacom Bulls scored seven tries to the three of the Sharks u/21's consolidating their place at the top of the competition log.
Scorers:
Vodacom Bulls u/21: Tries: Tiaan Lange (2), Cornelius Volschenk, Tiaan Fourie, Quewin Nortje, FC du Plessis. Conversions: Tiaan Fourie (5), FC du Plessis.
Cell C Sharks u/21: Tries: Bryce Calvert, Phatu Ganyane, Corne Rahl. Conversions: Christian Els

The Leopards u/21 "saved" their season with a hard-fought win of 22-05 against the Toyota Cheetahs u/21 in Bloemfontein on Saturday. Both teams gave their all in the first half, however, the scoreboard did not move with both teams going into the second half all level at 00-00.
The second half saw the game opening up a lot with both backlines showing more than intent to run at their opponents. The Leopards u/21 scored four tries in the second half to one of their hosts.
Leopards u/21 winger Keano Windvogels was the visitors' hero who scored two great tries.
Scorers:
Toyota Cheetahs: Try: Nkoka Ngobe.
Leopars u/21: Tries: Hennie du Rand, Keano Ricardo Windvogel (2), Luan vd Walt. Conversion: Luan van der Walt.
