The Springboks were hosted by Australia in Sydney and were desperately looking for a win to keep their Rugby Championship hopes alive. In a stop-start match, the Springboks managed to outscore Australia with four tries to one to earn a much-needed bonus-point win with 24-08.
The try by Canan Moodie admittingly flatters the Springboks that struggled to put phases together without making unforced errors. Once again a disappointing performance by the Springboks down under. The Springboks led 12-03 at the halftime break with a lot still to do.
The second half deteriorated into a stop-start affair with both teams making several unforced errors. The match came to life a bit with the Mapimpi try and yellow card with nine minutes still to go.
