During the past few months, schoolboy rugby announced several changes in their rugby setups. Some surprises and some expected movements took place as the schools' were looking to strengthen their coaching in order to maintain the high standards set by previous years' teams.
After it was announced that Peter Engledow did not renew his contract at Paarl Boishaai, it was all expected that Sean Erasmus will return. Erasmus was confirmed as the "new" head of rugby at this prestigious rugby school. His biggest challenge will be to fill his own boots and improve on his achievements 3 years ago.
Corné Uys' appointment was as expected announced as the new Head of Rugby at Paul Roos Gymnasium. This is seen as Paul Roos' first step to "retake" the top rugby school title in the Boland as well as the country.
A big shock the past week was the news that Sylvester Booysen left Drostdy HTS and joined Eldoraigne High School in Pretoria. The passing of the previous principal of Drostdy HTS apparently the reason for this drastic move by Sylvester. A lot of hard but exciting work awaits Sylvester at Eldoraigne who previously had to suspend their Rugby Academy activities a few years ago.

Loffie Eloff's commitment to Curro Langebaan will see several rugby prospects move to Curro Langebaan. Curro Langebaan surprised everybody earlier this year when they outplayed Curro Durbanville 25-10 during an exercise match. Loffie's involvement in the Curro group could only be to the benefit of the boys and the development of the rugby programme within the big Curro countrywide community. We apologise for naming Curro Durbanville being the school where Loffie is involved.
Peter Engledow's appointment at Durban High School (DHS) caught many if not all by surprise. It was widely accepted that Peter will coach in the exciting USA new professional league, however, his contract at DHS will ensure that they will be taken seriously by all in KwaZulu-Natal.
Oos Moot, a powerhouse in the Moot in Pretoria, appointed their first head of sport. Christiaan Gouws have some brilliant ideas and should he manage to keep the talented boys of the area "at home" he will be one of the powerhouses in not only Pretoria.
